The 100 Day Project: Day Fourteen

Sunday, 3 March 2024

I didn't get around to writing this post yesterday despite being in my study most of the day. I was poorly and I got so into making art, that at some point I just forgot about the blogging bit. I then headed to bed pretty early and it only dawned on me this morning that I hadn't written...

For this bit of art yesterday, I played with watercolours again. This time with texture using salt and bubble wrap, something I did in a Domestika course a year or so ago and really enjoyed, but hadn't really done since I don't think! Out came that MaimeriBlu dot card again, haha. I painted on some of the Green Gold, Phthalo Turquoise and Payne's Grey in fairly random blobs to start with. I had intended them to merge together more, but never mind. I sprinkled some salt over that painted area and then splattered on more of the same colours over the top. I put some more paint down in the remaining blank are and placed some bubble wrap over it. Once it was all dry, I drew some botanical designs on in charcoal and then called it a day.

I like the textures in this one, the drawing on the top I'm not so keen on though. It is what it is.
