Good morning!
I'm feeling so yucky today, full of cold as well as my dodgy eyes. Anyways, as I thought I might, I went for a replay of yesterday's piece, but with the blooms I currently have on my kitchen windowsill. Some pink Tulips and yellow Daff's.
I started with negative space again today. We got out the Jackson's soft pastels in Deep Lavender Blue for the background which I smudged in with my finger, and Salmon Pink and Lemon for the flowers, with Green Tree for the stems and leaves. Followed that up with my Pentel oil pastels in Rose Madder, Yellow, Yellow Green and then finally Prussian blue to add another layer to the background. Quick little outline here and there in Winsor & Newton willow charcoal and I was done.
I like this one, but I think I preferred yesterday's floral piece. I think the overall balance was better but I do like the darker blue background, it's one of my favourite colours.
I'd love to know which you prefer! Let me know in the comments.
See you again,
Rebecca x
